He grew up in the area of Wann, Oklahoma where he went to high school.  At age 20 he proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years earning the rank of BM3 (E-4); upon receiving his honorable discharge he transferred to the Naval Reserve.  During his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medical with Four Bronze Stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

David was united in marriage to Marilyn Wooten.  Of that union three daughters were born, Dana, Lana and Jana.  The couple later divorced.  They remained friends and were great co-parents for their girls.

He worked as a mechanic, a truck driver and tree trimmer.  He was known as “Monkey David” and his trucker handle was “Lil Red”.  He was awarded for a million miles with no accidents.

David was a member of attendee of the Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.  He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.  He was part of a group of friends that went to Casey’s and Eggberts for morning coffee.  You could often find him tinkering on different projects, and could build air compressors from scratch.  Most of all he loved the time he spent surrounded by his family.
