Hebur V. Grundy, 81, of Coffeyville passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 at his home.

He was born on November 30, 1937 at Dallas County, Texas to Theodore Hebur “Ted” and Merle (Fox) Grundy. Hebur grew up and attended school in Durant, Oklahoma, moving to Coffeyville with his family in 1955 where he completed his education. He went on to receive his degree in Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.

In September 1958 he married Jacqueline Balls. They were later divorced.

Hebur practiced optometry in Coffeyville and Caney in Kansas and Bartlesville and Muskogee in Oklahoma. For many years Hebur raised and trained race horses.

He was a member of Keystone Masonic Lodge #102 A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Denise Lawrence of Claremore, Oklahoma, Gayle Ann Grundy and Nancy Lynn Westervelt both of Coffeyville; one brother, Phillip Grundy of Coffeyville; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Harold Grundy.

A Memorial Service celebrating Hebur’s life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Fairview Cemetery Veterans Memorial Patio. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Keystone Masonic Lodge #102 A.F. and A.M. Inurnment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
