Obituary of Allen Dale Dick

Allen Dale Dick, 58, of Independence formerly of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was born on November 9, 1960 at Coffeyville to Buddie Everett and Maxine (Reed) Dick. Allen grew up in the Coffeyville and Liberty area where he attended Whittier Elementary School and Liberty Grade School, he graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1978. On July 31, 1981 he married Julia Wright in Miami, Oklahoma. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Allen was employed at John Deere Coffeyville Works in the Warranty and Repair Division until retiring in 2014. After his retirement they moved to Independence. Allen was a member of the Union, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on fishing equipment for his family and friends, and was an avid Hot Wheels collector. But his greatest joy was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors his wife, Julia Dick of the home; two grandchildren, Xander Allen Lepley and Shyan Nicole Lepley both of the home; his mother, Maxine Dick of Liberty; two brothers, Mike Dick Coffeyville and Ronald Dick; son-in-law, Rick Lepley; his mother-in-law, Alice Wright of Coffeyville; sister-in-law Angie Carter of Coffeyville, and brother-in law, George "Skip" Wright and wife, Tisha of Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his father, Buddie Dick; and his daughter, Teri Lepley. A Memorial Service celebrating Allen's life will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Havana Cemetery Patio in Havana, Kansas with John Splechter of Arkansas City, Kansas officiating. Inurnment will follow in Havana Cemetery. Following Allen's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Memorials are suggested to the family.
