Obituary of David Norman Andersen

David Norman Andersen, Sr., 82, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David was born on March 31, 1937 to Karl and Elizabeth (Hall) Andersen. He earned his high shool diploma, then furthered his education at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he achieved his Bachlors Degree. On August 14, 1976 in Wichita, Kansas he was united in marriage to Lila M. Heacock. Following their marriage they made their home in Seattle and Kent, Washington where David was employed at the University of Washington. In 1994 they moved to Coffeyville, Kansas. David loved the Lord, he was of the Baptist religion. He excelled in management and organization. He enjoyed wood and metal working, reading, writing, teaching english and history which he loved. He is survied by his loving wife, Lila of the home; sons, David J. Andersen of Coffeyville, Kansas, Karlton Levi Andersen of Wann, Okloahoma; daughters, Rebekah Lynn Parrish and husband, Lee of Loranger, Louisiana. Lola Marie Cowan and husband Scott of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Eryk, Owen and Jayden, Abbie and Mason, Elizabeth and Benjamin, numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Elizabeth Andersen, his brother, Karl Andersen. Following David's wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will hold a private service at a later date. David W. Barnes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
