Obituary of Elizabeth Evette Washington - Jones

Elizabeth Evette Washington Jones, 36, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at her home. 

On March 19, 1983 in Coffeyville, Kansas Bobby Lee Washington and Louise Ann Scott gave birth to a set of twins, Elizabeth and Bobby Washington, Jr. As only twins do, they always shared a special bond.  They grew up in Coffeyville where they were raised by their Grandma, Margaret Green.   

In 2003 she met the love of her life; Anthony Jones, Sr.  They were inseparable ever since.   The couple made Coffeyville their home.  Elizabeth worked as a house keeper for the Appletree Inn before having children; after which she became a full time home maker.  She loved being a mom.  The family would often attend church at 1st Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Coffeyville.  Elizabeth loved people and visiting with all those close to her.  She was very original; she spoke her mind and could be scrappy but when she loved, she loved just as fiercely.  

Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Anthony Jones, Sr.; children, Anthony Jones, Jr., Adarrion T. Jones and Adayriona Jones all of the home.  She is also survived by her mother, Louise Scott of Topeka, Kansasl; mother-in-law, Margaret Kemp; step-grandfather, Lewis Gunter; twin brother, Bobby Washington, Jr.; brothers, Gary Lucas, Myron, Curtis, Terry, Ronnie and Brazell Scott, Andre and Robert Green, K’Ronnie Brooks; sisters, Mary and Margaret Scott, Kaila Scott Reddins; special aunts, Deborah Washington Scott and Vicki Shelton; special uncles, Duce and Wesley Washington; brothers-in-law, Terry and Phillip Jones, Courtney and Michael Reddins, Jeremy Sanders; sisters-in-law, Stephanie and Larethia Ford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great and great-great aunts and uncles; close family and friends. 

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father, Bobby L. Washington in 1993; her grandmother that raised her, Margaret Green in 2003; grandmother, Elizabeth Jones; father-in-law, Harold Junior Ford; her baby boy, Arterrious Tyreck Jones on June 5, 2019; sisters-in-law, Crystal and Bevilynn Ford; brother-in-law, Brandon Sanders.  

Home Going Services for Elizabeth will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the 1st Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Coffeyville.  Pastor Armogen B. Waller, Sr. will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Hickory Creek Cemetery near Lenapah, Oklahoma. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. 

Family suggests contributions can be made to the funeral home to help defray the cost of funeral expense; contributions can be left with the funeral home or mailed to David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
