James C. Gorham peacefully passed away on November 14, 2019 with family by his side.

James (Jim)  Clark Gorham was born to Leslie J. & Pearl A. (Rice) Gorham on October 29th, 1925 in Osage County Oklahoma on Mission Creek area. He grew up near Dewey, Oklahoma. Jim attended school at the Wayside School, graduated from Dewey High School in 1944. He married Evelyn Virginia Robinson on October 29th, 1944, his birthday wish at Copan Baptist Church, where he was a member. They had three children Jerry Wayne, Linda Jean and Betty Jane.

Jim pipelined with H.P. Price and other pipeline companies, moving to numerous states.  He also worked as a Pending Mechanic Foreman for a construction and material company in Chicago. They came home and operated a dairy farm and assisted with others in the area with farm work. Jim proudly was named a Master Dairyman for Washington County, Oklahoma in 1958. After they lost their dairy to Copan Lake, Jim then went to work for Jack Browder and Jim Ratcliff. May of 1990, they retired to their home on their rural farm in Nowata County. During their retirement they have enjoyed traveling to 49 states including Alaska, Canada, & Mexico. They spent winters in Donna, Texas where they both enjoyed the many friends they made.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years Evelyn just 13 months ago, as well as their son, Jerry Gorham.  His parents & siblings Betty Gorham Meadors, Robert (Bob) Gorham, Charlie Gorham

Surviving Jim are his daughters, Linda Shott of Claremore and Betty Jones of Grove, grandchildren James Austin of Palm Harbor, FL, Tim Austin of Saline, MI, Jacey (Gorham) Waltrip of Copan, OK, Anita (Hockett) Clubine of Havana, KS, Rusty Hockett of Bartlesville, OK, Debbie (Baker) Grayum of Claremore, Pam (Baker) Chandler, of Claremore and numerous great grandchildren and great great children.

Private services will be held at a later date.

David W. Barnes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
