Robert Scott "Scotty" Jackson, age 24, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 Scotty was born on February 10, 1995 in Joplin, Missouri to Melissa "Missy" Jackson. He was her only child and the light of her life. As it was just the two of them, they were incredibly close and Missy was so very proud of him and his accomplishments. Scotty was raised in Coffeyville where he attended Holy Name Catholic School, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 2013. After high school he went to Coffeyville Community College and earned his Associates Degree in 2015. Scotty then furthered his education at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Scotty was an established welder and construction worker. He was currently employed with a pipeline company, Utili-Link, Inc. He was a lifetime member of Holy Name Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #991 in Coffeyville. He was a K-State and Duke University Sports Fan. He enjoyed working of trucks, riding four wheelers and hanging out with family and friends. He leaves behind his mom and best friend, Melissa "Missy" Jackson of the home; grandmother, Mary Jo Jackson; uncles, Chris Jackson and wife, Debbie, Mark Jackson and Jeff Jackson all of Coffeyville, Kansas; cousins, Courtney and Kyle Jackson, along with many extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert E. "Bob" Jackson who passed away May 9, 2011. A Rosary Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville Kansas. Father Zachary Pinaire of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Independence will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the Knights of Columbus #991 or to Holy Name Catholic Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
