Barbara A. Dale, 72, of Coffeyville passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born on November 10, 1947 at Miami, Oklahoma to Rex E. and Lillie (Fink) Davis. Barbara grew up and attended school in Chetopa. On October 26, 1979 she married James Michael "Mike" Dale at Miami, Oklahoma. Following their marriage they made their home in the Baxter Springs and Riverton area where Barbara was one of the first employees hired when McDonalds came to town. In 1990 Mikes job with the railroad brought the family to Coffeyville, Barbara went to work at Western Publishing where she was employed until the company closed the local facility. She then worked for Renzenberger and K & S Oil Company. In her free time Barbara enjoyed working puzzles, playing dominos and canasta and going to Casino's. She was an excellent baker and loved baking cakes, Barbara created many creative birthday cakes for her family especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, James "Mike" Dale of the home; her children, Bill Dale and wife, Cindy of Coffeyville; Jenger Byler and husband, Tracy of Baxter Springs, and James Dale, Jr. of Coffeyville; step-daughter, Kenda Gilman and husband, Steve of Oak Grove, Missouri; her grandchildren, Jason Clark, Rex Bayless, Jacob Raley, Shianne Dale, Christen Dale, Tyler Dale, Savannah Malson, and Jeffrey Dunford; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Chris Dale on January 8, 2012. A Memorial Service celebrating Barbara's life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Fairview Cemetery Veterans Memorial Patio with Pastor Jimmy Harrington of Ridin' for the Brand Cowboy Church in Wann, Oklahoma officiating.. Inurnment will be at a later date in Spring Hill Cemetery north of Coffeyville. Following Barbara's wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book on Friday, from 9:00 .m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
