Coffeyville -
MayBelle Buetow, 80, of rural Coffeyville passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
She was born July 5, 1927 in Huntington Beach, California to Clyde and Pearl (Stites) Karner. At an early age her family moved to the Altamont and Mound Valley, Kansas area where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Labette County High School.
On January 6, 1946 she married Wilbur Buetow at Altamont. Following their marriage they made their home on their farm east of Coffeyville. Mr. Buetow preceded her in death on October 6, 2002.
Mrs. Buetow was employed in Inventory Control at Farmland Refinery for 29 years, retiring in 1989.
She was active in the Genealogical Society and was an Amway Distributor for many years.
Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki Sage of Ben Wheeler, TX, and Jackie (Todd) Gilstrap of Coffeyville; two sons, Carl "Bud" (Pam) Buetow of Tulsa, OK, and Kevin (Joyce) Buetow of Coffeyville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister Sue Marie Noeth.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in the Mound Valley Cemetery at Mound Valley, KS, with Rev. Richard Peckman of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating.
Friends may call on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville is in charge of arrangements.
