Richard H. Nash, 74, of Coffeyville, passed away Monday morning (April 2, 2007) at Continuous Care Center in Bartlesville, OK.
He was born September 17, 1932 at Coffeyville to Clyde Sherman and Frances "Frankie" Rose (Andrews) Nash, Sr. He grew up in Coffeyville and attended Holy Name Catholic School and Field Kindley High School graduating in 1950.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. For many years he was a self employed auto mechanic and later was employed at Jensen Manufacturing Co.
On April 28, 1978 he married Glenda Defenbaugh at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville.
He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, and Elliott-Funston-White Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1022.
Survivors include his wife Glenda of the home; two sons, Dick Nash of Hodgens, OK, and Mike Nash of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, Frances Welsh of rural Coffeyville, and Alice Nash of Denver, CO; two grandsons, Jason Nash and Brian Nash; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Nash and Jaylin Nash. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clyde Sherman Nash, Jr. and one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Nash.
A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (April 5, 2007) at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
A Memorial Service will at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Veterans Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery with Father Jerome Spexarth officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Elliott-Funston-White Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1022.
Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may sign the register book on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
