Obituary of Alexander L. Jaimez

Alexander " Steve" L. Jaimez, 68, of Coffeyville passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Lawrence, Kansas on May 28, 1951 to Alexander and Mary Louise (Rodriguez) Jaimez. He grew up and attended school in Lawrence graduating from Lawrence High School. His family later moved to Coffeyville.
Alexander worked in maintenance for Coffeyville Recreation Center, as a med aid for both Windsor Place and Medicalodge where he loved working with the residents in his care. He finally worked for CCC in the maintenance department until he retired.
On March 26, 1984 he married Billie DeAnn at Miami, Oklahoma. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their children.
Alexander was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He enjoyed listening to music, playing the guitar and singing.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Jaimez and wife, Mary of Coffeyville; David Shook and wife, Erica of Claremore, Oklahoma; one daughter, Alexandria Jaimez of Coffeyville; his parents, Alexander "Alex" and Mary Louise Jaimez of Coffeyville; his siblings, Kathy Howard of Aurora, Colorado, Susan and Mike Bradley, David and Brenda Jaimez, Rebecca Harris, Donna Morgan, all of Coffeyville, Diane and Randy Yebanks of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Debbie And Tony Lawson, Annette and Cory Hendryx. Anthony "Tony" Jaimez, and Annie Mansfield all of Coffeyville; five grandchildren Elijah Jaimez, Israel Jaimez, Gabriel Jaimez, Denton Shook Logan Shook; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life Billie DeeAnn, his brothers Nick Jaimez, Paul Jaimez, Benjamin Jaimez and Timothy Jaimez and by one grandchild Agape Joseph Jaimez.
A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2020 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Daniel Lorimer officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may sign the register book on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
