Obituary of Ryan Christopher Thomas

Ryan Christopher Thomas, 38, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee.
Ryan was born on December 5, 1981 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Charles and Julie (Bumgarner) Thomas. He grew up in Coffeyville where he graduated from Field Kindley High School in 2000. Ryan furthered his education at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri and then Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in International Business in 2018 after studying abroad in London, England in 2017. Ryan was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Julie Kuehn of Coffeyville, Kansas, his father Chuck Thomas and wife, Julie of Independence, Kansas; and siblings, Joseph Thomas and wife, Danielle of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Sean Whitchurch of Manhattan, Kansas, David Wilson and wife, Caitlyn of Coffeyville, Kansas, Joey Dozier of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Lacey Mazzocco and husband, Ryan of Joplin, Missouri, Michael Senecal and wife, Connie of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Chase Senecal and wife Heather of Coffeyville, Kansas and Livi Rae Thomas of Independence, Kansas; grandmother, Joan Thomas of Coffeyville, Kansas; and numerous other family members. Ryan is preceded in death by grandparents Clarke and Joan Bumgarner of Coffeyville, Kansas, Ralph Thomas of Dearing, Kansas and Uncle Mike Thomas of Liberty, Kansas.
He loved music, which was a major reason he chose international business as his degree. He also chose Nashville as his home for the same love of music, and you would often find him attending concerts of up-and-coming artists as well as enjoying multi-day music festivals. Ryan also loved collecting Department 56 villages, Magic cards, dolphins and numerous other things. It was no coincidence his favorite team was the Miami Dolphins, who also sport his favorite color, orange. He worked as an assistant manager at Walgreens in Nashville. He previously worked for many years at Country Mart in Coffeyville.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Coffeyville First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Diane Massey officiating. Private family inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
The family suggests memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association; contributions can be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
