Pedro Escalante, age 79, of Sedan, Kansas, formerly of Cedar Vale and Wichita, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, April 2, 2007 at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home in Sedan.
He was born May 19, 1927 in Jaslisco, Mexico, where he grew up and attended school. He moved from Mexico when he was in his twenties to Wellington, Kansas. He married Deliliah Hernandez. They later divorced. In the early 1980's, he moved to Cedar Vale, Kansas. He moved to the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home in Sedan in 2005, where he lived until his death.
The family of Pedro Escalante would like to thank friends and staff from the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home and the Cedar Vale Manor. They greatly appreciate what they have done for their father!
He is survived by two sons, Christopher Escalante and his wife Terri of Wichita, Kansas and Gabriel of San Bernardino, California; four daughters, Teresa Escalante of Wichita, Kansas, Tina Phillips and Gina and her husband Danny Villa both of Wichita, Kansas, Sonia and Joe Linsey also of Wichita, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2007 and Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the David W. Barnes funeral Home in Sedan.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home in Sedan, Kansas with Chaplain Mike Graham of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. These remembrances may be left in care of the funeral home.
