I am so sorry to read the sad news of Joe's death today. I have wonderful memories of Joe as I do for all the Floyd and Rita Rinkenbaugh family. My heart breaks for all of Joe's family. I'd like to share a memory of Floyd Joseph here. One of my most vivid memories of Joe is when he sold me his old red Schwinn bicycle in probably 1968. I was almost 8 that summer and buying that bike cost me all of my life's savings. I even had to ask my parents for 75 cents of the purchase price which was 4 dollars even. I paid Joe and happily rode it all the way down the sidewalk to my yellow house. (a whole two house's West from Joe's) I loved and rode that old red Schwinn until the fall of 1972. That fall I thought I needed a new bike for 7th grade at McKinley. I have a photo of me on that bike. I remember Joe being a great brother to Maryann, Rita and Susan. If any of the neighborhood kids got into any type of disagreement with the girls, Joe would be right there to make sure his little sisters were not going to be picked on. As a little kid, I never wanted Joe mad at me. Ha! I think you all know that your family is very important to me. I remember the days of our youth as if it were yesterday. I could go on and on of my memories of growing up on West 5th St. Kimberly and I will certainly be keeping each and every one of you in our thoughts and prayers during this very sad time. Please take care. I love you all. Your old neighbor, (who was such a skinny little kid) Mark Myers

Thank you so much Mark. You are right, Joe always took-up for his sisters! We have very fond memories of you and your family as well. Our hearts are broken, but memories like this surely bring a smile. Thank you for sharing. We love you too!
Love,
'Little' Rita

I worked with Joe at the sale barn. We were great friends. Shocked to learn this as he was only a few years older than I am. So sorry for your loss.
