Maureen Cecelia Hearson, 87, of Coffeyville, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Windsor Place.
She was born on July 29, 1932 at Oswego, Kansas to Fred A. and Nellie Mae (Tomey) Harris. Maureen grew up on the family farm near Bartlett, Kansas, she attended rural grade school near her home and completed her education at Labette County High School in Altamont.
On June 4, 1949 she married Howard Earl Hearson at Parsons, Kansas. Following their marriage they made their home in the Coffeyville area where they raised their two daughters. They later divorced.
Maureen was a homemaker; she enjoyed fishing and reading, and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Vicki Grover and husband, Joe of Coffeyville, and Diane Walstrom and husband, Brad of Garfield, Arkansas; one brother, Clifford Harris and wife, Glenna of Enterprise, Alabama; five grandchildren, Greg Grover of Winterville, North Carolina, Lori Wilson of Owasso, Oklahoma, Brad Wilmoth of St. Louis, Missouri, Scott Wilmoth of Wentzville, Missouri, and Kyle Eighmy of Bentonville, Arkansas; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Robert Harris and Kenneth Harris.
Following Maureen's wishes cremation will take place and no public service is planned at this time. Inurnment will be in the Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett, Kansas.
