Karla “Kim” Soles, 61, of Caney, Kansas passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Kim was born on June 3, 1958 in Hugoton, Kansas to Lee Roy and Shirley (Tomlinson) Seibel. She grew up in Duncan, Oklahoma where she earned her high school education. She attended and completed Barnum and Bailey’s Clown College and later went on to earn her bachelor’s degree. She had earned her LPN and before health issues prevented she was studying to earn her RN as well.
On December 16, 1979 she was united in marriage to Robert Frank, Jr. Of that union two children were born. The couple divorced in 1997.
On May 14, 2016 she was united in marriage to David Soles in a beautiful park in Edmond, Oklahoma. They made their home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Caney, Kansas.
As a teenager, Kim had traveled to Spain and when her daughter was living in England she was able to visit there as well. She loved the outdoors and camping. She enjoyed reading, pottery and quilting. She loved the time she spent as a professional clown and donated her services on countless occasions including helping at Camp Funny Bone. She also volunteered with the Red Cross Disaster Relief. Kim was incredibly proud of the fact that she was celebrating 16 years of sobriety and was a strong supporter of AA.
Kim is survived by her loving husband, David Soles of the home; son, Robert Israel Frank and spouse, Audrey; daughter, Kristy Michelle Vairetta and spouse, Joe; three granddaughters; two grandsons, mother, Shirley Seibel; one sister; three brothers; her loved and very special service dog companion, Gracie along with several other close relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Lee Roy Seibel.
Memorial contributions can be made to a fund that has been set up for the family in handling her final expenses at Community National Bank.
Private funeral services will be held with burial to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas.
