Eva Mae Males, 82, of rural South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at her home.
Eva Mae was born on February 9, 1938 in rural Nowata County, Oklahoma to Austin M. and Loueva Mae (Morrow) Billups. Growing up she lived in the Snow Hill area and her family ran a dairy.
In 1956 she graduated from Labette County High School. Eva Mae then got married to Murray Beard. The couple had a son, Bobby Dean. Murray passed away in 1958.
In the early 1960’s she was united in marriage to Donnie Hill of that union, two children were born, Joe and Donna. The couple later divorced.
On June 30, 1971 she married Al Males in Valeda, Kansas. Eva Mae was happy to have gained six more kids to love that were Al’s children from a previous marriage. The couple made their home east of Coffeyville, Kansas until moving to rural South Coffeyville, Oklahoma following the flood of 2007. Al preceded her in death on November 1, 2010.
Over the years Eva Mae worked at Newberries, New Castle and Rita’s Café. She then went to work for Medicalodges Inc for over 30 years until her retirement in 2010.
Eva Mae was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed annual holiday shopping trips with her cousin; she also enjoyed working cattle and riding horses. She was a member of the Edna Round-Up Club and liked going to SEK Shows and Cavalcade. Most of all she loved the time she spent with her grandkids.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Mae (Hill) Standard of Liberty, Kansas; son, Joe Hill of rural South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three step children; numerous step grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Loueva Billups; husband, Murray Beard in 1958; husband, Al Males in 2010; brother, Virgil Billups; son, Bobby Dean Beard; granddaughter, Wendy Beard and grandson, Joshua Hill.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Senior Center in Edna, Kansas. Burial will follow at North Edna Cemetery in Edna, Kansas.
Friends may call on Monday, June 8, 2020 at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register. The family will greet friends Monday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Memorials can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607; contributions can also be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N Cline Rd, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
