Thelma Marie Mullens, 75, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Medicalodges in Independence, Kansas. Thelma was born on September 29, 1944 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Benjamin and Ruby (Allen) Gregory. In her early childhood her family lived in Nowata, Oklahoma for four years. She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended local schools. Thelma stayed busy throughout her life taking care of her family and her home. On May 24, 1976 Thelma was united in marriage to Tony Mullens. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2019. Thelma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. She enjoyed playing bingo, attending the Inter State Fair and Rodeo, playing tambourine and going to Braum's for ice cream. Most of all she loved the time she spent at church and when she was surrounded by her family and friends. Thelma is survived by her daughters, Donna Thompson of Coffeyville, Kansas, Sheila Patton of Pittsburg, Kansas; seven grandchildren; sisters, Velda Cunningham of Pensacola, Florida, Linda Hills of Nampa, Idaho; brothers, Frank Gregory of Independence, Kansas, Jack Gregory of Coffeyville, Kansas; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Ruby Gregory; husband; and a sister, Martha. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Dick Smith will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
