Please share a memory of Della to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Della Pauline Maxson, 78 of Coffeyville, KS and Frisco, TX went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Pauline was born on December 20, 1942 in Keefton, OK to Paul Starrett and Della Starrett. She spent some of her early childhood in Wichita, KS before moving to Coffeyville, KS, where she graduated from Field Kindley High School. As a member of the Cherokee Tribe, her Native American heritage was an important part of her life. Her great grandmother Rebecca Nugent walked the Trail of Tears and was 113 years old when she died. On May 29, 1964, Pauline married Douglas Russell Maxson at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. Pauline spent nearly 50 years working in the legal profession, with most of her career spent at the Becker Hildreth Law Firm and Medicalodges, Inc. in Coffeyville, where she was the head of the legal department when she retired in 2014. She loved her career, friends and community, and she actively gave back through service in Leadership Coffeyville, the First Baptist Church, Daughters of the Nile and other organizations. After retiring, Pauline and Doug stayed in Coffeyville to take care of her mother (Della Starrett Price) until she passed away in 2018, and moved to Frisco, TX in 2019 to spend more time with their grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her cherished family. Survivors include her husband Doug Maxson of Coffeyville, KS (currently living in Frisco, TX), her son Shawn (Alyssa) Maxson of Frisco, TX, her three grandchildren (Ashtyn, Braden and Ellery Maxson) of Frisco, TX, her sister Marie (Lynn) Carson of Coffeyville, KS, and her brother Larry (Lisa) Starrett of Coffeyville, KS, and several nieces and nephews. Those proceeding her in death includes her father Paul Starrett, her mother Della Starrett Price and several aunts and uncles. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville with Pastor Dick Smith officiating.
