John Spencer Smoot, 79, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.
John was born on September 9, 1940 in Independence, Kansas to Sylvia and Georgia (Bell) Smoot. He grew up in Coffeyville where he graduated from Field Kindley High School. John proudly served in the United States Navy. Upon receiving an honorable discharge he returned to Coffeyville where he made his home and worked as a service repairman for Montgomery Wards.
He was united in marriage to Kenna Elaine Tuell. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Mills, Linda Moore and Kenna Tucker; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Donna Seely and two sons, Jason Smoot and Burt Tucker.
A private family Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 22, 2020 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. Military honor will be provided by the VFW Post 1022 and American Legion Post 20.
