James “Jim” S. Hall, age 88, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jim was born on May 10, 1932 in Liberty, Kentucky to Albert and Gracie (King) Hall. He grew up and attended elementary school in Kentucky. The family moved to Coffeyville, Kansas where Jim graduated from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College. Jim was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves. After college he worked for about a year as an optician in Hutchinson, Kansas until he was called into active duty with the U.S. Navy. He proudly served his country during the Korean War until receiving his honorable discharge.
On December 8, 1951 in Coffeyville, Kansas he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Phyllis Madewell. The couple made Coffeyville their home where they raised their family. They were lifelong members of the Lewark Church of God in Coffeyville. They enjoyed their time spent at church and the wonderful church family they became close with throughout the years.
Jim worked for Bunny Bread, North America Rockwell in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Parkersburg, Continental Can, Jensen, and J.C. Pump. He enjoyed restoring antique cars, growing black berries and playing guitar. Most of all he loved the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends.
