Rosemary Crager, 95, of Coffeyville passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, She was born on July 1, 1925 at St. Paul, Kansas to Thomas O. and Elizabeth (Nunnink) Coomes. Rosemary grew up and attended school in St. Paul graduating from St. Francis Catholic High School in 1943. For several years she worked for a Doctor in Erie, Kansas working as a midwife. On October 27, 1947 she was united in marriage to Eugene Edmond Crager at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Following their marriage they made their home in Davenport, Iowa, where their son Richard was born later moving to Wichita, Kansas where their daughters Carol and Deanna were born. The family moved to Coffeyville in July of 1958. Gene preceded her in death on September 8, 1994. In 1998 she married Bob Crager and he preceded her in death. After moving to Coffeyville Rosemary worked Jolly Kids, the Army Ammunition Plant at Parsons and Marriott-Isaacs Drug Store in Coffeyville. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville and Holy Name Altar Society. Rosemary loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Carol Goode of Coffeyville, and Deanna Neifing and husband, Steve of Bella Vista, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Mark Goode of Branson, Missouri, Hayley Winter and husband, Gabe of Eaton, Colorado, Megan Powell and husband, Josh of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Lauran Owens and husband, Brad of Coffeyville and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband's Gene and Bob; one son, Richard Crager in 2012; and siblings, Frances Fowler, Lester Coomes, and Gladys Coomes. A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13th at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 14th at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Daniel Lorimer officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday fomr 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to Holy Name Catholic Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
