Obituary of Aaron Paul Flores

Aaron Paul Flores, age 50, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, due to complications from COVID-19. Aaron was born on January 1, 1971 in Bayard, Nebraska to Isidro Flores, Jr. and Sandra (Bangert) Flores. After graduating Olathe South High School, Aaron attended school at Emporia State University where he earned a Bachelor in Science.degree. Aaron lived in Bayard, Nebraska until 1983 he then lived in Olathe, Kansas until 1997, St. Joseph, Missouri, (Missouri Western-Graduate Assistant Coach), until 2000, Durango, Colorado, (Fort Lewis College- Offensive Coordinator), until 2001,El Dorado, Kansas, (Butler County Community College-Offensive Coordinator), until 2011, Fulton, Mississippi, (Itawamba College- Offensive Coordinator), around 11 months in 2011 before moving to Coffeyville, Kansas in 2011 when he became the Head Football Coach at Coffeyville Community College. In 2019 he became the Director of Student Affairs at Coffeyville Community College. On July 24, 1999 he married the love of his life, Kristen Cataldi in Olathe, Kansas. They had two daughters, Ryann and Haley that he adored. Aaron was a member of the Coffeyville Rotary Club, the Sigma Tau Gamma at Emporia State University and he was involved in IFU sports while at Emporia. In high school he played Quarterback for OSHS. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kristen Cataldi Flores; daughters, Ryann, age 10 and Haley, age 9, all of the home; father, Isidro Flores, Jr. of Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Bangert Flores and his grandparents, Tilo and Vivan Flores and Fred Sr. and Mollie Bangert. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to a GoFundMe account that has been established for the family, setting up a college fund for the girls. Following Aaron's wishes, cremation is taking place under the direction of David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. A memorial golf tournament will be held by friends and family at a later date.
