Obituary of Gary E. Herriman

Gary E. Herriman, age 81, of Liberty, Kansas passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gary was born on September 21, 1939 in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma to Euel and Juanita (Lindersmith) Herriman. He grew up in South Coffeyville where he attended local schools. On January 7, 1980 he was married to his loving wife of 41 years, Leanna J. Allen in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Liberty, Kansas. Gary was a union electrician for more than 50 years. He enjoyed working on the farm raising cattle and baling hay. More than anything he loved the time he spent surrounded by his family. Surviving to honor his memory is his wife, Leanna Herriman of the home; children, Lloyd Herriman of Liberty, Kansas, Doug Herriman of Coffeyville, Kansas, Darla Lohman and husband, Chad of Abilene, Kansas, Boyd Herriman of Valeda, Kansas; step son, Brian Ritter and wife, Tonya of Plattsmouth, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Teresa Good of Coffeyville, Kansas; nineteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Herriman and wife, Karen of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; sister, Kay Kimball of Nowata, Oklahoma along with numerous nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Euel and Juanita Herriman; son, Floyd Herriman; two grandchildren; brother, Vernon Herriman; sister, Loessa Wise; brother-in-law, Junior Kimball. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Liberty Cemetery. Chaplain Keith Springer of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice will officiate. Friends may call on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
