Margie M. Scott, age 94, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Asbury Village in Coffeyville. Margie was born on November 28, 1926 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Joseph A. and Ila M. (Morrison) Kastler. She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended Whittier Elementary School, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School. She furthered her education at Coffeyville Community College where she earned her Associate Degree. On June 16, 1946 she married the love of her life, Glenn H. Scott in Coffeyville. The couple made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their family. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2000. Margie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. She frequently helped with activities and gatherings being held at the church and for several years she taught Sunday School. Margie was active in the PTA and was a Den Mother for the Blue Birds and for Cub Scouts. Margie worked as a bookkeeper for her brother, Otto Kastler at Kastler Electric for many years before becoming bookkeeper for the Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce which also included the Interstate Fair and Rodeo. After retiring from the Chamber of Commerce she was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for several years. Margie and Glenn were active in the local Dance Clubs. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting. Above all she loved the time she spent surrounded by her family. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Melinda Tatman and husband, Tom, Brenda Stallsmith and husband, Mark all of Coffeyville, Kansas, Joe Scott of Olathe, KS; six grandchildren, Andrea (Gabe) Keele, Bradley (Jenna) Scott, Trent (Kim) Tatman, Scott (Robyn) Tatman, Mark (Kylee) Stallsmith, Hannah (Nick) Nolte; and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ila Kastler; loving husband, Glenn Scott; and brother, Otto Kastler. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Dick Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will greet friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Memorial Contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Coffeyville; contributions can be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
