Betty Jean Walterscheid (nee Scott), of Coffeyville, KS passed away September 26, 2020 at the age of 99. She would have been 100 years 11-2-2020. Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patrick D. Walterscheid; son, Stephen S. Walterscheid; Sister, Nila Phipps (Norman); Brother, Preston Scott (Louise) and parents, George & Nelle Scott. Betty grew up in Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kindly Memorial High School and Coffeyville Community College. She married Pat in 1947. They made their home in Coffeyville, KS while raising their two children. Betty worked at several jobs but mostly in retail store. Pat and Betty moved to Grand Lake, OK to pursue Pat’s dream of owning his own Boat Mechanic shop in 1972. They enjoyed many thing s like boating, swimming, and card games with friends. Betty had a fabulous talent of playing the piano for all who would listen. She was a knowledgeable reader and cross word fanatic. Betty moved to Lake St Louis MO in 2010 to live with Patti and Mike and enjoy her granddaughters and great grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include one daughter, Patti J Sexton (Mike) of Lake St Louis, MO; two granddaughters, Betsy Mellon (Gary) and Michelle Seifert (Kipp). One great grandson, Trey Mellon and three great granddaughters, Mia, Sloane, and Sutton Seifert. Also, two nieces that were just like daughters, Barbara Scowley and Debbie Melies (Paul), a great nephew and niece, Scott Scowley (Megan) and Erica Clough (Case). Graveside remembrance will be held May 1, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Veterans Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, KS. Inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
