Kimberlee A. Harp Kimberlee A. Harp, 61, of Coffeyville, passed away Wednesday May 5th 2021. Kim was born June 16, 1959 in Fremont, Michigan, to the late Charles and Marjory (Roberts) Pontious. She married Norman Harp on March 18, 1989 and he preceded her in death on February 2, 2004. Kim is survived by her sons Matthew (Megan) Harp of Owasso, OK and Brennan (Kristi) Harp of Dearing, KS; her daughter Darci (Rick) Self of Owasso, OK, and son Michael (Megan) Harp of Dewey, OK; 10 grandchildren: Ethan and Lauryn Merritt, Collier, Caroline, Claire, Kaydance, Benson and Nora Harp, Jace Witwer and Owen Hestand. Kim is also survived by her sisters Hollie (William) Ricards and Tracey (Michael) Krauss, her brothers Todd (Carol) Pontious and Hal (Shirley) Jankusky; In-laws Reverand Thomas (Carol) Harp of Tampa, FL., Kathy (Chuck) Sorensen of Iowa and Nancy (David) Smith of Pea Ridge, AR. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Kim was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville. Kim taught special education for 39 years from 1981 – 2019 for Tri-County Special Education Co-op 607. Kim’s passion was working with children with disabilities. Kim graduated from Grant high-school in 1977. She attended Central Michigan University and graduated with a bachelor degree of science and education. She graduated with her Masters degree in Special Education from Pittsburgh State University in 1995. Kim was awarded Regional Special Education Teacher of the Year and Special Education Teacher of the Year in Kansas in 2011. Educator of the year by the Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce 2002-2003. She was active in scouting with her sons and a member of the Coffeyville youth council. The family will receive friends on Monday May 10th from 6pm-8pm at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville Kansas. The family suggests memorials to Tri-County Special Education; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
