Obituary of Hope Lorraine Ramsey

Hope Lorraine Ramsey, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 47 at her home.
Hope was born on August 31, 1973 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Jack and Lois (Avery) Lowther. She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended grade school and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1991. Hope continued her education at Coffeyville Community College. She later went to Tri County Technology Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where she graduated in 2011 with her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
On June 27, 1999 she married her soul mate and best friend, Chris Ramsey in Douglas, Kansas. The couple made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their two boys, Christopher and Dillon. Hope worked for Cessna Aircraft Company from January of 2005 until June 2010. After earning her nursing degree she went to work for Windsor Place Nursing Home in Coffeyville in 2011 and has worked there ever since. During her years at Windsor she has worked on all the units at one time or another. Most recently she has been working on London, Cambridge, Home & Sight and Chelsea Units.
Hope loved spending time with her family. They enjoyed trips to Joplin, Eureka Springs and Branson, Missouri. She competed on a bowling team for many years. She loved riding roller coasters, going to casinos, listening to music, online shopping, baking her famous enchiladas or making her divinity candy.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Chris Ramsey of the home; sons, Christopher Ramsey and companion, Jenna Hodges of Willard, Missouri, Dillon Ramsey and companion, Juliana Wick who are expecting their first child, Amethyst Ramsey in August, she would be Hope’s first grandchild; siblings, Jeanie (Rocky) Hill of Searcy, Arkansas, Sue Kinnison of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Marilyn Starnes and companion, Drake Grigsby of Coffeyville, Kansas, Kristy (Kenneth) Holder of Moore, Oklahoma, Johnny Tosh and Larry Tosh both of Coffeyville, Kansas; mother-in-law, Anna Fisher of Coffeyville, Kansas; godmother, Lavonia Kinney along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends. Hope was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lois Lowther and a niece, Amanda Tosh.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Doug Mund will officiate. A private family burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Cemetery at a later time.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6pm-8pm.
The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Coffeyville Relay for Life Windsor Place Team; these can be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
