Rowena "Row" Kay Boydston, age 70, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at The Journey Home Hospice in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Row was born on June 4, 1950 in Edna, Kansas to Clarence and Earlene (Purdy) McCartney. She grew up in Angola, Kansas and attended school at Altamont where she graduated from Labette County High School. After completing high school she moved to Coffeyville, Kansas. On December 24, 2000 she was united in marriage to Bobby Dean Boydston in Coffeyville. The couple made their home in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. Row worked in the core room as a laborer for Acme Foundry. She enjoyed fishing, mowing her yard and loved spending time with her family. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Jeff McCartney and wife, Barbara of Coffeyville, Kansas; Justin Vaughn, Dawn Strickland and husband, Allen all of Grove, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Wesliann and Izabella of Coffeyville, Kansas; sisters, Glenda Yeubanks of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Dana Merry of Altamont, Kansas, Charita Kizzire of Valeda, Kansas and Kathy Howe of Bartlesville, Oklahoma along with several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Earlene McCartney; her husband, Bobby Dean Boydston and by her brother, David Eugene McCartney. Following Row's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Pumpkin Creek Cemetery east of Coffeyville. Pastor Kevin O'Conner will officiate. After the graveside service, the family will gather at the home of Kevin and Charita Kizzire 510 Valeda Rd. in Valeda, KS for a celebration of Rowena's life and encourage anyone who wishes to stop by to join them. The family has requested in lieu of flowers to consider a donation to the hospice organization The Journey Home 900 NE Washington Blvd, Bartlesville, OK 74006.
