Obituary of Juanita Marie Tipton

Juanita Marie Tipton, age 96, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Windsor Place Nursing Home in Coffeyville. Juanita was born on February 13, 1925 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Harold and Checial (Hollingworth) Maxson. She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended local schools and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School. On April 9, 1950 she married the love of her life, Carl W. Tipton in Coffeyville where the couple made their home. In addition to helping to take care of her family and their home, Juanita worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 25 years serving in mail delivery and clerical duties during that time. Juanita loved living in the country. She loved her cats, dogs and horses and liked to work in the garden. Most of all she loved the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially the grandkids. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, David Tipton and wife, Connie of Afton, Oklahoma, Kathy Tipton of Wichita, Kansas, Tom Tipton and wife, Linette of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Angela Tipton, Brad Tipton, Katie Martin, Ben Tipton and seven great grandchildren. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Checial Maxson; loving husband, Carl Tipton; siblings, Harold C. Maxson, Beryl Maxson and Erline Stowe. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Darlene Russell, special caregiver and to the entire Windsor Place staff. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice and can be left at the funeral home or mailed in care of David W.
