Hope Elizabeth Cook, 94, of Coffeyville, passed away Monday night (February 19, 2007) at her home.
She was born July 29, 1912 at Morgantown, West Virginia to Harry Daniel and Gertrude Grace (Yonkers) Hankins. She grew up in West Virginia and attended the Wesleyan Academy. She moved to Coffeyville in 1927.
In 1930 she married Ross Todd, they were later divorced.
On March 25, 1946 she married William Frank Cook, Jr. at Nowata, Oklahoma. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Mr. Cook preceded her in death on September 22, 1972.
Hope enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, music and traveling, visiting many different countries, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Arvin Todd of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four daughters, Joan Ralston of Dallas, Texas, Sharon McCann of Coffeyville, Carolyn Bonham of Austin, Texas, and Kim Cook of Coffeyville; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday (February 24, 2007) in the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Larry W. Cracraft officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337
