Victor Dean "Vic" McClure, age 58, of rural Coffeyville, Kansas passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Vic was born on October 16, 1963, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Kenneth and Shirley (Perkins) McClure. He grew up around South Coffeyville, Oklahoma attending local schools and graduating from Lenapah High School. He also attended Auto Body at the Vo-Tech Campus. Vic was a kind and hardworking man that people loved to be around. For 38 years he was employed by Watco Company in Coffeyville, he was the Director of Purchasing at the time of his retirement. Vic was also a highly skilled, self-taught taxidermist. He owned and operated McClure Taxidermy for numerous years. In the early 2000's he met the love of his life, Tricia Underwood, after a few dates the two fell in love and have been inseparable for the past 18 years. Vic was of the Pentecostal faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and a supporter of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited. But most of all he loved his family and the time he spent surrounded by them and friends. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tricia McClure of the home, children, Samantha Pomeroy of Independence, Kansas, Tony Merritt of Kosciusko, Mississippi, seven grandchildren, parents, Kenneth and Shirley McClure of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, siblings, Tracy Norris and husband Geoff of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Nancy Potter and husband Jimmy of Coffeyville, Kansas along with several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 1pm until 8pm at David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will greet friends on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6pm-8pm. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Veterans Patio at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Pastor Jim Herman of Ft. Scott, Kansas will officiate. Private interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the KU Cancer Center, these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
