Brenda Kay Ward, 50, of Coffeyville passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at her home following a long illness.
She was born on October 8, 1971, in Coffeyville to Gary and Mary (Thurman) Marlow. Brenda grew up and attended school in Coffeyville and South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.
When Brenda was younger, she worked as a waitress until becoming disabled.
Brenda married Tim Ward. They later divorced but remained friends.
She attended LifePoint Church in Coffeyville and enjoyed arts and crafts.
Left to cherish Brenda’s memory are her daughters, Teresa Thurman and husband, James Moyer, and Monica Luker and husband, Jarrett; her grandchildren, Ayden Thurman, Kye Luker, and Riley Moyer and one on the way, all of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; her mother, Mary Marlow of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; and her brother, Vince Jones of Dearing, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Marie Thurman, and her stepfather, Gary Marlow.
Following Brenda’s wishes cremation has taken place under the direction of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. There are no services scheduled at this time.
