Coffeyville -
Kathryn Isabell Harrison, 85, of Coffeyville passed away Saturday (January 20, 2007) at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 12, 1921 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Albert Earl and Maude (Daniels) Cook.
In 1942 she married the love of her life, Albert Harrison at Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Harrison preceded her in death in October 1976.
Kathryn was a long time dietary supervisor at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, and was very proud of the coursework she completed for this job. She also worked at Comet Manufacturing Plant in Coffeyville and spent many years driving trucks with her husband. Several of her years were spent in and around Grove, Oklahoma where Kathryn and Albert worked at various resorts on Grand Lake. They enjoyed many hours of fishing.
Kathryn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville; she was also active in the Moose Lodge and Ladies Auxiliary. Kathryn was a strong, independent woman who cared deeply for her family and friends. Relationships were the most important things in her life. She never met a stranger and considered everyone her friend.
Survivors include three sisters, Janice Guthrie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Linda Wade of St. Louis, Missouri, and Patricia Hyatt of Grandview, Missouri; one brother, James Cook of Tulsa, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews who adored her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, beloved sister, Betty Small; brothers, Harvey Cook and David Joe Cook; and stepmother Mozelle Cook.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville with Dr. Wayne Norton officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
