Heaven gained a very special angel on Friday, March 11, 2022, Kimberly Ann McMichael at the young age of 39, just 11 days shy of her 40th birthday, passed away into eternal rest at the Wilson County Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Kim was born on March 22, 1982, in Caldwell, Idaho to Albert and Mary Rebecca "Becky" (Lighty) McMichael. She grew up in Winfield where she earned her high school education, graduating from Winfield High School. Kim worked at a few jobs throughout the years. For a time, she worked at a pottery shop in Parsons, Kansas where she was able to fulfill her love for crafts. While living in Coffeyville she worked at McDonald's where you could always count on a friendly smile from her; she also worked at Class LTD in Coffeyville where she did janitorial work and attended day services. Kim loved loving all things in life. She had a special love for the outdoors - spending the weekends with her brother, Michael, riding 4-wheelers and fishing. She loved sports and attending sporting events. Her favorite pro team was the Kansas City Chiefs. She really enjoyed cheering on the kids in her life at all their youth sporting events. You could always find her yelling and eating her favorite popcorn when her team was winning. Kim was a huge supporter of the people in her life. Above all, she loved her family and friends. She also loved Elvis Presley, animals of all kinds, and making the people around her smile and laugh. She also loved spending time at the casino with John, Tracy and Troy. Surviving to cherish her memory are her siblings, Michael McMichael and companion, Brandi Walker of Cambridge, Kansas, Tim Smock of Oxford, Kansas, Penny McPherson and husband, Bill of Winfield, Kansas, Kim Smock of Blackwell, Oklahoma, her loving fiancé, John Sardella of Columbus, Kansas, nieces and nephews, Shawna, Tammy, Amber, Autumn, Melissa, Jesse, Tyler, Lucas and Alexis, special people in her life, Heather Hodges and fiancé, Kendal Francis, their children, JaMaiah, Sidney Lynn and Damaris, Starla Stevens and husband, Aaron, Taylor Berrigan, Amy Hodges, Tracy and Troy Glasgow along with numerous other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Becky McMichael and by her paternal and maternal grandparents. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Randy DePriest will officiate. The family requests those attending the service to honor Kim by wearing her favorite color, purple, or by wearing something that represents the Kansas City Chiefs.
