Patricia Louise Hatfield age 93 of Coffeyville passed from this life on May 18, 2022, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Patricia was born in Neodesha, Kansas on October 29, 1928, to Frank and Beryl (Richardson) Green. She graduated from Altoona High School; she continued her education as Pittsburg State University and then Neosho County Community College. She married the love of her life Bill J Hatfield on April 18, 1947, in Fredonia, Kansas. To this union the couple was blessed with a daughter, Vicki.
Patricia found employment as a telephone operator, taught in a one room schoolhouse, worked at Continental Can and was a bookkeeper for Long Bell Lumber. Together she and Bill became owners and operators of Plattner Welding Supply. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, 25 plus year member with the Order of the Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi, Art and Literature Club and Garden Club. Patricia enjoyed sewing, reading, working daily crossword puzzles and walking two miles every morning.
Patricia’s memories will live on with her daughter, Vicki Rauch and her husband Steve of Coffeyville, granddaughter, Holly Oertel and her husband Mark of Lawrence, Kansas, great grandchild, Larkin Oertel, sisters, Carol Bradford of Chanute, Kansas, Beryldean Reheis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews.
She now rests with her parents, husband Bill, and her brothers, Allen and F.M. Green.
A private graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Altoona Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the guest book on Monday, May 23, 2022, at David W. Barnes Funeral Home from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The family suggests memorials be made payable to the First United Methodist Church or a charity close to the donor’s heart and they may be left with or sent in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Coffeyville, KS 67337.
