Nathaniel Edward Colbert II, more commonly known as 'Man-Man' or 'Lil Nate' by those that knew him, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022. He was 32 years old. His premature passing has been a very difficult and terribly sad loss for his family. Nate was born on March 1, 1990, in Topeka, Kansas to Marcia Lynn (Colbert) Adair. He was later adopted by his grandparents, Nathaniel Edward Colbert and Carrie (Harris) Colbert who raised him. Nate grew up in Coffeyville where he attended local schools and graduated from Field Kindley High School. He went on to take some college classes at Coffeyville Community College also. Nate worked for several years as a manager for a little mom and pop grocery store. More recently he was working as a caregiver and home healthcare provider. He was very loving, caring and compassionate to people of all ages and walks of life. His hobbies included gardening, drawing, painting, and sewing. He loved animals and for a time was attending college to become a veterinarian. Nate loved his family and enjoyed the time he spent with his siblings, nieces and nephews. Surviving to cherish his memory are his siblings, Carrisa (Devonte) Castorena and her children, Carrie, Haylie and Serenidee Kendall, Ashley (Anthony) Colbert and her children, Nautica and Neaubri Colbert and Mackenzie Kendall all of Coffeyville, Kansas, Alivia Hayes-Alston and her children, Markael Hayes, Harmoni and Terrayah Alston all off Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Marcus Downing of Pittsburg, Kansas; a special aunt, Demetra Hayes of Coffeyville, Kansas along with a host of cousins, great nephews, extended relatives and close friends. Nate was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Carrie Colbert, his mother, Marcia Adair, his brother, Tommy Downing, and an infant brother, Nathaniel Lamar Colbert. Cremation is to take place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. A Private Graveside Memorial Service for the family will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline or to the American Cancer Society; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
