Obituary of Mary E. Bennett

Mary Erlinda Bennett age 89 of Coffeyville passed away on June 24, 2022 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Mary was born in Coffeyville on August 24, 1932 to Juan and Trini Rosales. She was raised in Coffeyville and attended local schools graduating from Field Kindley High School. She continued her education at Coffeyville Community College earning her associate degree. Mary met the love of her life Dwight Bennett, and the couple was united in marriage on May 23, 1959 in Chanute. To this union the couple was blessed with two daughters. Mary found employment with First Federal for many years as a teller. She volunteered for the Boy Scouts where she was a camp director, she also volunteered at the Credit Union, Avenue of Flags, and the American Red Cross until she went to work for them. She could also be found doing whatever needed done at Holy Name Catholic Church and School. Mary had a soft spot in her heart for cats and dogs and loved spending time out in her flower and vegetable garden. Mary stayed up to date with all politics and everybody on Facebook. She had a great sense of humor and the heart of a servant. You wouldn’t find anyone that was truly humbler, and maybe a touch stubborn. Mary’s memories will live on with her daughters, Patricia Hanna and Carla Bennett-Adrian, sisters; Rody Gobea and Trini Kelly and her husband Dennis, grandchildren; Jon-Tyler Hanna and his wife Nicole, Caitlin Owens and her husband Ross, and Stevie Maria Adrian, great-grandchildren; Ezekiel and Stella Owens, Gabriel and Christopher Hanna, and nieces; Lisa and Rose. She now rests with her parents, her sisters; Alicia Rosales and Rose Rosales and her son-in-law Eve. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10:00 am at Holy Name Catholic Church. Praying of the Rosary will take place on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 9:30 am also at Holy Name Catholic Church. The family suggests memorials be made payable to Holy Name Catholic Church or to the Tatman Cancer Center and they may be left with or sent in care of David W.
