Obituary of Mycale Thaxton Baker

Mycale Thaxton Baker, age 56 of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away July 19, 2022, at his home.
Mycale was born on February 22, 1966, in Coffeyville, Kansas to George and Claudette (Denney) Baker. Mycale was raised and lived his life in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. He attended South Coffeyville School, graduating from Lenapah High School and Vo-tec auto body. This led him to make a career in managing Body Shops. Mycale also helped develop and maintain the family farm and later be his father’s caregiver.
On September 28, 1985, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Barbara Reed. To this union, they were blessed with two sons. Mycale enjoyed target shooting, hunting, fishing, operating his Ham Radio, any and everything Harley Davidson. He also loved spending time at the farm, where he made a campsite by the pond that holds many happy and fun memories.
Mycale’s memories will live on with his wife Barbara, his son Izak Baker and his wife Chelsea, brother, Vinson Baker and his significant other Susie Temple of Nowata, Oklahoma, brother Dale Baker of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, and two grandchildren: Spyncer and Jace all of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, including many nieces and nephews. Along with his new friends, Stonie and April, for their support that helped Mycale gibe his father quality care at home. As well as his cussing and discussing neighbor Joel and Red Dog.
He now rests with his mother Claudette, his father George, and his son Zak Baker.
Honoring Mycale’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held this Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rafter B farm with Pastor Charles Barker officiating.
Directions for Rafter B farm: Located on RD 2 in South Coffeyville, off of Hwy 169. Go west a ½ mile, it will be on the south side of the road. Watch for balloons.
