F. Louise Lange, age 88, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, formerly of Sedan, Kansas passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
She was born January 2, 1919 in rural Newkirk, Oklahoma to Floyd Lester and Dada (Eckley) Smith. She attended school at Arkansas City, Kansas. She married Charles W. Lange on September 16, 1937 in Newton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1977. She retired from the United States Post Office after working for thirteen years as a mail carrier for Sedan. In 1961, she moved back to Peru, Kansas. After living there for many years, she later moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
She was a member of the Town and Country Christian Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Sedan VFW Auxiliary, and a former member of the First Christian Church in Sedan, Kansas.
She loved to quilt, sew, read and make afghans for her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Joan Fall Leaf of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two sons, Charles Lange of Sedan, Kansas and William "Bill" Lange of Pineville, Missouri; one step-sister, Clyda Marie Milks of Texas; two half-sisters, Betty Barnett of Huntington Beach, California and Barbara Moody of Cameo Island, Washington; one half-brother, Marvin Smith of Bedford, Texas; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, one son, one daughter, three brothers and one grandchild.
Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Sedan, Kansas with Max High, Minister of the Town and Country Christian Church of Bartlesville, Oklahoma officiating. Interment will follow at the White Chapel Memorial Garden in Wichita, Kansas at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2007.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Northeast Evangelism, 900 S. Clark Street, Moberly, Missouri 65270, with Berea written on the memo line or these remembrances may be left with the funeral home.
