Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 131 S. Poplar St., Ottawa, 66067. Under the direction of Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas. Mr. Daniels will lie in state on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas for friends and family to stop in to pay their respects and sign the guest register. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Fairview Cemetery, 2602 Woodland Ave, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337. Services are under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Contributions for funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated by the family. Checks should be made payable to Marie Daniels and if mailed sent c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067. Marcus G. Daniels, Sr., 55, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 31, 2022, at AdventHealth Ottawa. Marcus was born December 30, 1966, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of George Markus and Jo Ann (Goldsmith) Daniels.He lived in Coffeyville from the late 1970’s, moving from the Leavenworth, Atchison area. In 2005, Marcus moved to Ottawa, where he made his home until his death. He graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School, Coffeyville, with the class of 1984. In 1993, Marcus was united in marriage to Patricia “Baby” Marshall, who he knew since childhood. She preceded him in death in 2004. On March 16, 2011, Marcus was united in marriage to Marie Crichton in Ottawa. They were happily married for 11 years. For nearly 20 years, Marcus was an automotive paint technician in Coffeyville. Then for several years he was employed at AIG Wiring Company. He was an active member and Deacon of Bethany Baptist Church in Ottawa. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, watching Raider’s football, and was a car enthusiast. Marcus enjoyed road trips traveling to the beach and listening to rhythm and blues and rock and roll. He was also preceded in death by his parents George and Jo Ann Daniels, and brother Robert Walker. Survivors include his wife Marie Daniels of the home; four children, Whitney Daniels, Marcus Daniels, Jr., Tanzy Moore, Jr., and A. Judge Curran II; sister Charlotte Harris; seven grandchildren, Dai’tron Daniels, Brooklyn Moore, London Moore, Lemuel Barker, Jr., Sean Moore, Major Moore, and Marcus Daniels III; nieces, Chaka Daniels, and Chrisma Walker; nephews, Marcedes Daniels, Marking Daniels and wife Qwadeyza, Nathan Walker and wife Jennifer; great nephew Zeadric Daniels; and many cousins.
