Obituary of Chavoris Neal

Chavoris Dupree Neal, age 49, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Chavoris was born on March 30, 1973, in Wichita, Kansas to Van Ware and Lawanda Penn. He attended school in Lenapah, Oklahoma and Coffeyville where he graduated from Field Kindley High School. He enjoyed basketball and loved spending time surrounded by his family and grandchildren. Chavoris is survived by his children, Demarco Shoat of Parsons, Kansas, Christa Shoat of Pittsburg, Kansas and Lexi King of Joplin, Missouri, Avien Shields of Carthage, Missouri; his stepfather, Harry Neal, Sr. of Coffeyville; grandchildren, Darius, Darkis and Kalia Neal, with two more grandchildren “on the way”, brothers, Maurice Neal, James Neal and Harry Neal Jr., sisters, Natasha Davis and England Neal. Additional survivors include a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, extended relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Van Ware and Lawanda (Penn) Neal, and by a sister, Jeretta Penn Strickland. Friends and family can sign the guest register on Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of God, 2010 West 5th St. in Coffeyville. Pastor Mark Wilson officiate. Graveside services will follow at the Veteran’s Memorial Patio at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Private interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. David W.
