Margie Ann Thompson, 54, of Coffeyville, went to be with her Lord, Monday morning (December 11, 2006) at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was born August 19, 1952 at Coffeyville to Sampson and Opal Louise (Hardrick) Thompson. She grew up in Coffeyville where she received her education graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1970. Following high school she attended Pittsburg State University graduating in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
She was employed for many years by U.S.D. #445 working in the Library and later working part time in the Board Office. Margie was also active in Ministry, serving as President of Beholding the Time Ministries. She taught many Bible studies throughout Kansas, the United States and also Internationally.
She was an active member of Abundant Life Temple, and was a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Survivors include her mother, Opal Thompson of Coffeyville; one brother Sampson E. Thompson, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Brunswick, Georgia; and a host of friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her father. Her loving smile and encouraging words will be missed by many
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday (December 14, 2006) at the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
