Bill James Crugar, 79, of Peru, passed away Saturday morning (November 18, 2006) at his home.
He was born April 10, 1927 at Davenport, OK, to Harry Lester and Edith Blanche (Petersen) Crugar.
Mr. Crugar was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S.
On December 15, 1966 he married Margaret Hughes at Yuma, Arizona. Following their marriage they made their home in the Keota, OK area until moving to Peru five years ago.
Mr. Crugar was a truck driver employed by Better Homes Delivery. He enjoyed music and for many years was in "Bill Crugar and the Ramrods" performing in several southwestern states.
He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Margie of the home; sons, Fred Westendorf, Sequoyah Reece, Smokey Reece, Rusty Reece, Harry Edmond Crugar and Bryant Reece; daughters, Jaylene Ruggles and Deanna Reece, 17 additional step children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 21, 2006) in the Peru Cemetery at Peru, KS with military honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard, Fort Riley, Kansas.
Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.
