Sedan - Lacie Lea Beckenholdt, 19, of Sedan, passed away Thursday (November 16, 2006) in her dorm room at Cowley County Community College. She was born August 19, 1987 at Wichita, Kansas to Mark Anthony and Amy Lea (Sturges) Reyes. When she was young, she moved to Sedan where she attended school graduating from Sedan High School in 2006. While in high school, she was a member of the Sedan High School Band and Choir. She was currently attending Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City where she was active in Band and Choir. On June 24, 2006, she married Clayton Ryan Beckenholdt. Following their marriage, they made their home in Sedan. Lacie was employed at Duckwall's in Sedan. She was a active member of the First Baptist Church in Sedan, and worked in the church nursery. Survivors include her husband, Ryan of the home in Sedan; her mother and step-father, Amy and Richard Miller of Sedan; her father and step-mother, Mark and Cathy Reyes of Nebraska; two brothers, Timothy Miller and Andrew Miller both of Sedan; her maternal grandparents, Herb and Charlene Sturges of Sedan; her paternal grandparents, Harvey and Cindy Lowe of Wichita; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother Morgan Tyke Miller on October 29, 2003. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (November 22, 2006) in the First Baptist Church in Sedan with Rev. Gary Knox officiating assisted by Ariel Tatum. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery north of Sedan. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, and the Sedan High School Music Department, contributions may be left with the funeral home. David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan is in charge of arrangements.
