Keith Edward Yonker, 45, of Independence, died Wednesday (October 11, 2006) from injuries received in an automobile accident north of Edna.
He was born November 29, 1960 in Bay City, Michigan to Charles and Mary (Donaldson) Yonker. He grew up in Bay City where he attended school graduating from Handy High School in Bay City in 1978. He later moved to Smith Station, Alabama with his family.
In 1988 he moved to Kansas, in 1990 he moved to rural Edna where he lived until moving to Independence in 1992. He was employed as a paint technician at Cobalt Boats in Neodesha.
Keith enjoyed gardening at the farm northeast of Edna, hunting, fishing, camping, collecting model cars and collecting old coins.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Deana Morin of rural Edna; his companions children, Shelley Nolop and Heather Biggs both of Edna, Christopher Jarrett, of Catoosa, OK, Jeffery Jarrett of Adair, OK, and Shannon Morin of Edna; and Deana;s seven grandchildren; his father, Charles Yonker of Smith Station, AL; one brother, Kevin Yonker of Phoenix City, AL; three sisters, Pam Moore of Bossier City, LA, Denise Norris of Seymour, TN; and Karen Williford of Phoenix City, AL; four nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2003
A Celebration of Life service for Keith will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 21, 2006) at the couple's country home one mile north of Edna on K-101 to 7000 Road, turn east going two miles to Lyon Rd, turn north mile to their home. A private memorial service will also be held.
David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville is in charge of arrangements.
