Coffeyville - Longtime Coffeyville resident, Teresa Ann Mangan, 77, of Rt. 3, passed away Friday morning (August 4, 2006) at her home. She was the daughter of Frank and Lena (Reilly) Walterscheid. Teresa was born July 29, 1929, in Coffeyville As a young child she attended Holy Name Catholic School. She attended three years of high school at Ursula Academy in Paola, KS, and graduated from Monte Casino in Tulsa, OK 1947. The summer after graduating from high school she attended Catholic University in Washington, D.C., studying the Arts. On October 15, 1947, she married Michael Joseph Mangan at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. During her husband's employment with Bell Telephone they resided in many locations throughout Kansas, moving bask to Coffeyville in 1970. Mr. Mangan preceded her in death. Teresa was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Altar Society, and also a member of V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #1022. She directed many plays with the Coffeyville Little Theater and C.Y.O. youth group, and was a Brownie Troop leader for several years. Survivors include one son, Frank Mangan of Claremore, OK; four daughters, Mary Kay Jontra, Rebecca Ann Vaughn-Castro, Rose Marie Mangan-Knisley, and Regina Lynn Mangan-Uhls all of Coffeyville; one brother, Herb Osborne of Miami, OK; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Don Osborne, one sister, Delores Vortriede, and one grandson. A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday (August 7, 2006) at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (August 8, 2006) at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Jerome Spexarth officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to Holy Name Catholic School; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
