Obituary of Charles L. Hembree

Sedan - Charles L. Hembree Strongbear, age 61, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 at his home in Sedan, Kansas. He was born September 2, 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia to Willie and Minnie (Tyndal) Hembree. He attended school in St. John, Kansas and later went to college. He married Sharon Beaston in 1992 in St. John, Kansas. They moved to Sedan in 2002 from Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army from 1965-1968. He later worked for Jones Brother Trucking in Montana as a truck driver before retiring. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hembree of the home in Sedan, Kansas; one step daughter, Stacy Ware of Wyoming; one step-son, James Silva of California; one brother, John Arnt of Pratt, Kansas and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chautauqua, Kansas with Steve Zimmerman officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard of Fort Riley, Kansas.
