Joretta Daphne Sadler, 63, of Coffeyville, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 4, 1949, in Spencer, West Virginia to Curtis Role and Blanche Virginia (Phillips) Raines. When she was young her family moved to Eastern Ohio, and then to Beaver County in western Pennsylvania, where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Darlington High School in Darlington, PA. Following high school she attended New Castle Business School.
On January 17, 1970 she married Philip Sadler in Atlanta, GA. Following their marriage they lived in different states during her husband's Air Force career.
Joretta started working for Western Publishing Co. in Fayetteville, NC, moving to the Coffeyville Plant and later to Crawfordville, IN. Following her retirement they returned to Coffeyville to make their home.
She was an active volunteer worker for the American Red Cross in Coffeyville.
Survivors include her husband, Philip of the home; four children; Christopher D. Sadler and wife Susan of Florida, Risa L. Segura and husband Pedro of Coffeyville, Philip M. Sadler and wife Patrice of Illinois, and Kathleen L. Craig and husband Robert of Independence; two sister, Loretta Summers and husband Jim, and Andrea Zilk and husband Joe both of Beaver County, PA; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Following Joretta's wishes cremation has taken place and no service is planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
