Ruth Madeline Storer, 96, of Sedan, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.
She was born August 18, 1917 near Cedar Vale, to Edgar Jasper and Mary Brady (Lyon) Littrell. Ruth grew up and attended school in the Cedar Vale area, graduating from Cedar Vale High School in 1935.
On September 26, 1936 she married Rex Albert Storer at Fredonia, KS. Following their marriage they made their home in Sedan. Ruth worked for several years as a deputy clerk in the Chautauqua County Register of Deeds office and the Chautauqua County Treasurers office. Her husband preceded her in death on December 13, 1980.
Ruth was a member of the Church of Christ, and lifetime member and Past Worthy Matron of Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing Domino's, reading, working crossword puzzles, and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include one son, Freddy A. Storer and wife Marge of Offerlee, KS; one daughter, Linda Pape and husband Galen of Derby, KS; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Eddy Storer; and one granddaughter, Marisha Michele Pape.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the Greenwood Cemetery at Sedan with Joe Thomas and Earl Tresner officiating.
Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.
